Karakoy’s waterfront runs from the Galata Bridge east towards Tophane and is the main nightlife area within easy reach of the old city. Bars, rooftop terraces and restaurants are concentrated along Kemankes Caddesi and the streets immediately behind it.
Practical notes: most places open from late afternoon and run past midnight; rooftop bars take reservations and fill up on Friday and Saturday. Prices are higher than in the old city, and card payment is standard. Dress is casual but the rooftops lean smarter.
From Hotel Yasmak Sultan take the T1 tram to Karakoy, about ten minutes, or walk down through Eminonu and over the bridge in twenty. The tram runs until around midnight; after that, taxis are easy to find here.
