The Book Bazaar sits in a courtyard on the Beyazit side of the Grand Bazaar. It is compact, easy to find once you know the gate, and takes about twenty minutes to walk through properly.
Stock is mostly secondhand Turkish books, but the stalls also carry framed calligraphy, Ottoman map reproductions and miniature prints. These travel well and are considerably cheaper here than in the bazaar itself. A few sellers speak English; most are used to browsers who do not buy.
Opening hours run roughly from morning to early evening, and Sundays are quiet. From Hotel Yasmak Sultan the walk is about fourteen minutes along the tram line, with the Grand Bazaar on the way.
