Cagaloglu Hamami is a working Ottoman bath from 1741, four minutes on foot from the hotel. It is the most practical option in the old city for anyone who wants the traditional experience rather than a hotel spa treatment.
How it works: you are given a wrap and wooden sandals, spend fifteen or twenty minutes warming up on the heated marble, then receive a scrub and a foam wash from an attendant, and finish with cold water. Separate historic sections for men and women. Allow around ninety minutes in total.
Booking ahead is advisable in summer. Towels are provided; bring nothing but yourself. Our reception can arrange the appointment if you prefer not to call.
