Nuruosmaniye Street connects the Nuruosmaniye Mosque with the eastern gate of the Grand Bazaar. In practical terms it is the shopping street for anyone who wants the bazaar’s goods without the bazaar’s crush.
Expect jewellers, carpet and kilim dealers, and antique shops. Most are long-established businesses with fixed premises, which means fixed opening hours, card payment and, in many cases, help with shipping — useful if you are buying something that will not fit in a suitcase.
Walking down the street and entering through the Nuruosmaniye Gate is also the easiest way into the Grand Bazaar. From Hotel Yasmak Sultan the walk is about twelve minutes, mostly along the tram line.
